What is Grandma's Call Friend?

With Oma's Belvriend we combat loneliness among the elderly (and young people) on a larger scale and at a deeper level. We match young and old to each other based on interests and personalities and introduce them to each other as Call Friends, whereby, as soon as there is a click, contact is maintained on a structural basis. This means that a call is made regularly, for example every week or two weeks. As support, volunteers receive reminders and conversation starters on a regular basis and we encourage both to meet in real life and possibly participate in our major annual events.

What are you going to do?

When you register as a Calling Friend, you will hopefully soon have a new friend to call with! You will then be linked to one person to have contact with for a longer period of time. We believe it is important that contact is maintained on a structural basis, so that a personal bond can be created. We leave the contact up to you to coordinate, it is important that it suits both of you. For example, call every Friday afternoon, or sometimes when you are on the road and have nothing to do. Explore together what works for you!

How does it work?

Register for this "vacancy" via the link on this page. You will then receive a message within 3 working days about a provisional match, together with all the information you need to get started. We will then put you in touch and help you on your way. We will regularly share useful tips to make contact as smooth as possible, and occasionally ask you how things are going. And if you have any questions, we are always here. Together we will ensure that the bubbles are an enrichment for both of you!
