Attention, loneliness fighters!
Oma's Soep Nijmegen brings young and old together. During our Cooking Days, volunteers and seniors make a delicious soup together and enjoy each other's company. We also visit elderly people staying at home during our Soup at Home Days . In this way, we work together to reduce loneliness and increase conviviality in the beautiful city of Nijmegen.
Cooking days
During our old-fashioned, cozy Cooking Days, we spend an afternoon making and eating soup together with seniors in community centers or day care facilities. We use vegetables that would otherwise be thrown away. The Cooking Days are organized at various locations, and participation lasts approximately 2-3 hours. An afternoon full of board games, lots of tall tales, even more jokes... and, of course, delicious soup.
Soup delivery days
With the Soup at Home days, we reach the elderly who need companionship the most. Every week, together with all our volunteers, we deliver bags filled with our delicious soup, a motivational card, and a surprise to the homes of elderly people in your neighborhood. The focus here is primarily on the visit and having a chat. The Soup at Home day is organized weekly from a fixed location, and participation lasts approximately 1-2 hours. Your smile, a friendly chat, or a brief moment of contact can make a world of difference for our elderly.

At least 50% of the profits from Oma's Soep are donated to the Oma's Soep Foundation. The Foundation organizes weekly activities in various cities throughout the country where young and old are brought together to combat loneliness. Locally, our student boards organize weekly Cooking Days and Soup-at-home days and nationally we organize major events and PR campaigns.
